We Did Everything We Could Do, But What Went Wrong?

Looking at the people in the pictures above, they all have some things in common:

• they are all old;
• they are all working at something; and
• they are apparently, not wealthy.

The question now is, at this stage in their life, why are they all involved in stressful work as is seen in the pictures? Is it that they did not make adequate preparation in the past to enable them to spend this stage of their lives in comfort and bliss? Probably they made preparations, however, something went wrong.

As it is now, you may feel sorry for them and possibly want to blame someone (like the government, society, and their families) for their unfortunate situations. Watch it! Don’t think because you are better off today, living in comfort and lacking nothing, you can’t find yourself in the same situation, a few years from now.

Someone said if you want to have an idea of how you will end up in any endeavor, look at those who had been there before you. If you like where they are today, good: follow that path. However, if you detest where they are now, just know that that could be how you will end up.

It is possible that you are doing, now, the very things these people did in the past, which inevitably brought them where they are today. It is also possible, that you are making the same decisions today that they made in the past.

Possibly, they also went to school like you did, got a job, and worked with all their strength and talent for years building someone else’s dream. They were also told, just like you, that at retirement, they would be paid pension and gratuity, which will sustain them for as long as they live. But alas, something went wrong and they find themselves still struggling to make ends meet when they should be living in comfort and bliss.

I want to make something clear: if you don’t find a way to be in total control of your income now that you are young and probably have time on your side, you may end up like those people. In addition, if it takes only your effort, time, and experience to generate income, you will be limited and when you become old like those people, you will still have to work to make ends meet.

In conclusion, I want you to consider what you are doing right now in making a living. Can it run on its own and at the same time make you money?
